Balancing act: A look from Angel Sanchez's new ready-to-wear line. Photo courtesy of Angel Sanchez So next week, this Venezuelan-born designer is launching a contemporary collection called Sanchez. "I've been wanting to say something more about trends to the younger customer," Sanchez tells StyleList. "Little by little, I've been pushed into doing contemporary." The collection will feature 12 looks including separates and cocktail dresses in a variety of fabrics such as silk jersey, gazar, silk crepe, silk taffeta, and accents of sequins in mainly black and white. Prices for the items, available in sizes 2-12, start at $400 and go up to $1,200. "The collection is geometric and graphic," Sanchez says. "Compared to my couture, it's very straightforward and architectural." Though the new Sanchez line appeals to a younger client, the designer also believes his current customers will also be fans. "My couture clients are 45 to 65, but they don't want old dresses," he explains. "This collection is perfect for someone who is 25 or one of my current clients. It's a complementary collection. This is about making more than a beautiful gown - it will have a twist of edginess."

If you didn't get there in time to grab a pair you can still buy something that pretty and in that price choice.
